NMC Transfer Guide - MTA
To: Central Michigan University - Main Campus
Program: Dietetics
A Dietetics major prepares students to meet the educational knowledge and skills specified by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) as part of the requirements to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN).
Due to the nature of this program, a student may consider completing MTA, speech and math, and transferring without the associate's degree. If an associate's degree is desired, it is important to pick a minor and work on as many requirements for that minor as possible. Consult with Advisors at NMC and CMU for assistance in course selection and minor selection. Courses for a minor may be used for your General Education.
Admission Criteria
- Admission Requirements - 3.0 GPA. Courses need to have a 2.0 to transfer to CMU.
- Transfer students must complete graduation competencies for CMU (Eng 111, 112; COM 111; MTH 111) at NMC or they will be required to complete these classes during their first or second semester at CMU.
- It is important to contact a CMU Advisor early in your academic career.
Basic Requirements
Upon request at the NMC Records and Registration Office, a statement will be placed on your transcript, "MICHIGAN TRANSFER AGREEMENT (MTA) SATISFIED". Completion of the MTA will satisfy CMU's University Program requirements and 6 credits of their Writing Intensive requirement.
