Program: Information Security & Intelligence
One of the most significant challenges facing everyone — from individuals, to corporations, to the country — is maintaining, securing and interpreting information. The Information Security & Intelligence program (ISI) at Ferris State University addresses this challenge head-on. You will develop skills in a variety of leading edge technologies such as visual analysis, geographic information systems and digital forensics, as well as a broad cultural background to provide a basis for interpreting information and its ethical use. The Information Security and Intelligence degree prepares you for a variety of career possibilities in fields that allow you to see your contribution in action. Computer Forensics, Fraud Investigation, Information Security, Intelligence, and Terrorism and Criminal Analysis are a few of the possibilities. Opportunities exist in government, business, security, intelligence, health care, insurance, education and several other fields.
Admission Criteria
- Admission into the program requires a cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Ferris requires a 2.0 or higher in each class to transfer.
- Completion of an Associate degree or an accumulation of at least 56 semester hours is recommended.
- Completion of MTH 111 with a 2.0 or competency via ACT, SAT or Accuplacer.
- Essay required for admission.
- It is strongly recommended that students meet with a Ferris advisor very early in their academic career, especially for students who have transcripts from an institution other than NMC.
- The following courses apply to the Associate in Science and Arts degree.
- If you have a felony conviction or drug and or alcohol offense please speak with the Ferris advisor for possible employment complications.
- Concentrations include: Digital Forensics, Data Mining, Penetration Testing & Secure Software, National Security, Foreign Language. See a Ferris Advisor to discuss the best concentration for your area of interest.

Basic Requirements
Completion of the Basic requirements, as listed, at NMC will fulfill most of the general education requirements at FSU. Upon request at the NMC Records and Registration Office, a statement will be placed on your transcript, "MICHIGAN TRANSFER AGREEMENT (MTA) SATISFIED".
