Northwestern Michigan College is an "Open Door" comprehensive community college which means we admit most students who have graduated from high school, completed a competency exam, or have the potential to succeed in higher education. If you have below a 2.0 average on your high school transcript, you may be admitted to NMC on a provisional basis. To help you meet your educational goals, you will be encouraged to seek academic counseling and enroll in a reduced class load. Special Admission requirements apply to NMC's Health Occupations Programs and the Great Lakes Maritime Academy.
