The amount of veteran or dependant educational allowance varies according to the chapter eligibility. Standard credit load requirements for determining rate-of-payment are:
- Full time: 12 or more credit hours
- 3/4 time: 9-11 credit hours
- 1/2 time: 6-8 credit hours
- Less than half time: 1-5 credit hours
- Check with NMC Veterans Affairs for summer credit load requirements.
NMC's VA representative, located in the Records & Registration Office of the Tanis Building (#5 on the Campus Map), has all the necessary forms for application of benefits. As there are many facets of the program, it is highly recommended that you make an appointment to see the VA representative.
NMC scholarships
NMC also offers a scholarship specifically for veterans. The Bobby L. and Karen J. Thompson Veterans Scholarship provides a $1,000 annual award to a student veteran enrolled in at least six credits. You can search our scholarship database for it and other potential scholarships.
