New Student Checklist

Complete the Application for Admission
You may apply online with a credit card, or print the application and mail it to our office. If you’d like to apply in person, the Admissions Office is located in the Tanis Building (#5 on the Main Campus Map). Call (231) 995-1054 with questions. You will need to include a copy of your high school transcripts or GED and are welcome to submit ACT or AP scores as well. Check here for more transcript information.
Apply for Financial Aid
To be considered for any kind of student financial assistance at NMC, you will need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The application is completed online and submitted to the Federal processing center for their review. Complete placement testing
All students applying for enrollment at NMC must either complete the COMPASS placement test, or submit qualifying ACT scores. The test is offered Monday through Friday in our Career and Employment Services Office, (231) 995-1041. You will receive information about our orientation process after you have been admitted.
Register for classes
Once your admission process has been completed, you will attend orientation where you will meet with an academic advisor and register for classes.
