NMC’s Aviation Program Offers These Advantages:

  • We train students to become professional career pilots
  • We are FAA 141 and VA approved and have an outstanding reputation in the industry
  • We offer a Flight Academy option
  • We offer Associate of Applied Science degrees and students can receive their ratings in two years or less.
  • Students also have an opportunity to complete a Bachelor’s degree through NMC University Center without leaving Traverse City.
  • We have flexible class and flight time scheduling.
  • We are affordable and students can pay flight fees as they fly.
  • We offer personal attention; each student has a personal flight instructor and an Aviation Mentor to guide him/her in achieving their goals.
  • We offer free Tutorial Services.
  • Students fly all four seasons... giving them broader flying experience.
  • We fly our students to special events throughout the year, including conventions, air shows, and museums.
  • We provide training flights to Florida and out West.
  • Students can Fly extended solo trips after they get their private pilot license; to destinations such as Florida, Texas, Arizona, Alaska, Canada, and Mexico.
  • We own and maintain our own aircraft which are equipped with state of the art instruments; maintenance includes both required and non-required inspections.
  • Instructors are NMC employees and we train in out own facility at Cherry Capital Airport.
