To meet the needs of all students in the Flight Technology Program, NMC offers many different options that include an Associate of Applied Science degree in Aviation and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Ferris State University.
In the first two years of study, students are expected to earn:
- Commercial pilot certificate with single-engine and multi-engine ratings
- Instrument rating
- Flight instructor certificate
- 210 total flight hours
- Associate of Applied Science Degree in Flight Technology
In the last two years of study, students are expected to earn:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration - Aviation Option
- At least one of the following:
- Aviation internship
- Seaplane and Tailwheel flight and academic course
- First Officer Training flight and academic course
Additional training options may include:
- Instrument Flight Instructor rating
- Acrobatic training
- Glider training
- Mountain flying
- Hot air balloon training
- High altitude endorsement
- Opportunity to take extended solo cross-country flight
- Miscellaneous field trips

Requirements for students committed to the Flight Academy:
- Meet NMC admission requirements
- Obtain a second class medical certificate
- Attend the Aviation orientation session
- Flight course fees will be paid in full at the beginning of each flight course
- Students will be scheduled into flight labs (a minimum of 3 per week) with make-up flights required.
- Students must maintain timely and satisfactory progress
- Students are required to meet with an aviation advisor each semester
