Aviation Scholarships

Aviation scholarships are usually awarded by a scholarship committee in the Aviation Program. Contact the department for applications and more information.

Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Chapter 234 Scholarship – an annual award of $500 given to a full- or part-time aviation student. Applicants may be in their first or second year of studies.

Matthew Brian Feko Memorial Aviation Scholarship – One award of varying amount given to an aviation student with at least a 2.75 grade point average who is taking six or more credits. This scholarship will be given to career-oriented students who demonstrate a passion for flying. Preference will be given to those pursuing a fouryear degree through the Davenport/University Center partnership. Applicants cannot have any records related to drinking and driving.

Darrell Keith Holtsclaw Memorial Scholarship – a $2,500 award for a second-year aviation student with a minimum 3.0 grade point average who is planning to become a career pilot. The award is for flight fees only.

Stanley Mick Memorial Aviation Scholarship – criteria to be determined.

Donovan P. Rodriguez Aviation Scholarship – one $1,000 merit-based award for a student in Aviation Pilot Training who is a resident of Grand Traverse or the service area and who has a 3.0 grade point average and is enrolled full-time.

Stewart R. Stetson Aviation Scholarship – a $750 award for an Aviation student who is enrolled for 6 or more credit hours and has at least a 3.0 grade point average. Demonstration of financial need is required, and preference will be given to those working while attending NMC.
