I graduated from Michigan State University in accounting with high honors and as a member of the Honors College. I interned my junior year with Haskins & Sells (now known as Deloitte & Touche) and went to work after graduation with another "Big Eight" (now "Big Four ") firm, today known as Ernst & Young.
I passed the CPA exam on my first attempt, receiving the Elijah Watt Sells award given that year (1989) to 116 individuals out of 66,000 candidates for performance with high distinction.
I enjoy teaching very much and, in addition, working as needed in NMC’s counseling office. I love the out-of-doors and consequently try to take in a leisurely walk or run on a daily basis.
I teach on a regular basis: ACC 121 and 122, the first year of accounting principles required of business majors; ACC 221 and 222, the second year of financial accounting and reporting required of all accounting majors; and ACC 231, Federal Income Tax Problems. In addition, I teach junior and senior level accounting courses for Ferris State University at NMC’s University Center campus.
