  1. Faculty may initiate testing services with the Center for Learning by calling 231-995-2134 or sending an e-mail to kkahler@nmc.edu.
  2. Each test or set of tests submitted to the Center for Learning must have a “Test Proctoring Information” sheet completed and submitted with the tests to be administered. These forms are available by selecting one of the options below:

Center for Learning Test Proctoring Information sheet

    MCCVLC Test Proctor Request Form
    (opens in a new window)

MCCVLC Test Proctor Request Form – to be completed for courses available through the VLC.

Please complete thoroughly. Tests monitors need your clearly stated directions in order to correctly administer your exam(s).

  3. Tests may be sent to the Center for Learning via US Postal Service to:
  4. Kari Kahler
    Center for Learning
    Northwestern Michigan College
    1701 East Front Street
    Traverse City, MI 49686

Tests can also be hand delivered or sent through inter-office mail. Tests can be faxed in an emergency but many times they are difficult to read.

  5. Completed tests from NMC can be returned via interoffice mail or the instructor can pick up from the Center office. For MCCVLC tests, provide a self-addressed stamped envelope or mailing address. For tests received outside of NMC or the MCCVLC, please provide a self-addressed stamped envelope for return of the completed test(s).
  6. Please do not send an entire class to the Center for Learning for testing at the same time. We may not be able to ensure enough space.
  7. You will be setting the start and end test dates. These dates will be adhered to and tests not completed will be returned immediately.
  8. End test dates should close at the end of the business day, as opposed to various times during the day. Completed tests cannot be collected and returned at specified times of the day but will be collected and mailed at the close of each day.
  9. Please provide testing instructions to your students. It is helpful, if at minimum, that you verbally inform students what your testing parameters will be, that they will need to present a photo ID when requesting the test in the Center, and that all coats, hats, backpacks, etc. will have to be left with the test proctor.
  10. If students violate testing guidelines established by the instructor and/or Center for Learning, the Center for Learning reserves the right to collect the test before the student has completed it. The instructor will be informed of the guideline violated.
