Northwestern Michigan College is committed to celebrating excellence in teaching and learning. In recognition of this commitment, opportunities to recognize outstanding faculty members are taken seriously: one career-plan faculty member is honored with the Imogene Wise Faculty Excellence Award and one adjunct faculty member to be honored with the NMC Adjunct Faculty Excellence Award. Award recipients will be presented with a monetary award and medallion at the NMC May commencement ceremony. Students, faculty, administration, support staff, and community members are eligible to nominate instructors for these awards.

The decision will be made by the voting members of the Faculty Excellence Award Committee, consisting of students representing the student body and an SGA representative. Non-voting committee members include the previous year Imogene Wise award recipient as an ad hoc resource person, an NMC counselor, and the Center for Instructional Excellence director as facilitator.

Nomination forms are also available in all discipline areas, and at the Center for Instructional Excellence or the Educational Services offices. Nomination forms/ballot boxes can be found at campus locations (listed at the right) from November 20-December 12, 2007 (fall semester) and February 15-March 6, 2008 (winter semester).
