- Does the transfer school have any major?
- Is the major strong at this school?
- Does it provide required licensure/certification?
Transfer
- Does NMC have a transfer guide?
- Does NMC provide classes I can use?
- Will most of myu classes transfer or will
I have to start over?
- Do "D" grades transfer?
- When will the four-year school respond
to my admission and transfer of classes status?
- Contact the admissions office at your transfer school, request application
and other materials desired.
- Speak consistently with one transfer advisor.
- Keep accurate records (what, when, who), make copies of everything
you send.
- Check out possible scholarships in major.
- Look up deadlines for admission, financial aid, and scholarship applications.
- Send necessary documents: ACT or SAT, high school transcripts, AP,
CLEP (if required).
- Check out housing requirements/options.
- Look up GPA required to be admitted to college or major.
- Send separate applications for major, and complete separate test
in major if required.
- Take NMC classes that will transfer.
- Visit with an advisor and a student in your major, sit in on a class.
Have you completed:
- Application, including application fee
- Financial aid paper work
- Sending a copy of your financial aid transcripts
- Essays (if required)
Transcripts:
- High school transcripts (if required)
- NMC transcripts
- Other college transcripts
- Final copy of your transcripts (after your
final day at NMC)
- Contact the school to which you are tranferring
to make sure they have received all of your paper work.
