To import web page data into Excel
so you can use Excel's sorting and filtering functions...


Method 1 (works if using Internet Explorer):

  1. Right click on the area of the web page that contains the data you would like to import into Microsoft Excel. A pop-up menu similar to the one on the right will be displayed.

  2. Click on Export to Microsoft Excel.

  3. Microsoft Excel will open, a "Getting Data" message will briefly be displayed, and the data will be displayed in Excel.


Method 2 (works with Firefox, Netscape, Internet Explorer...):

  1. Highlight the web page address in the browser window:


  2. Press Ctrl C to copy the web address to the Windows clipboard

  3. Open Excel

  4. Click on Data, then Import External Data, then Import Data:


  5. A "Select Data Source" window will be displayed. Position the cursor inside the File Name field. Then, press Ctrl V to paste the web address into that field.


  6. Click on the Open button.

  7. If there is more than one table in the web page, you will be given the opportunity to indicate/click on the table(s) you would like to import into Excel.

  8. An "Import Data" window will then be displayed. Click on the OK button to import the data into your worksheet.
