Introduction to Word Processing:
Microsoft Word 2003

Once you’ve mastered computer basics you will want to learn one of the most valuable and versatile programs. Word becomes your typewriter as you learn to create and manipulate your work. Learn to open, close, save, navigate and edit documents in Word 2003. Work with formatting and tabs, page appearance and printing tools that will have you well on your way to creating professional-looking documents. Word 2003 is used but the skills can be applied to other versions. Includes text. A working knowledge of Windows and basic keyboarding skills are required.

When you open Microsoft Office Word 2007 for the first time, you notice that it looks very different from previous programs. That’s because it’s been redesigned to make your work easier, faster, and more efficient. Learn how to open, close, navigate, and edit documents with ease while you work with the Ribbon which brings the most popular commands to the forefront. Explore the Mini toolbar which displays formatting commands in the document right where you want to use them. Discover how to use the new features like Building Blocks, Smart Art, and themes to transform a plain document into a compelling document.

Intermediate Word
Take your Microsoft Word skills to the next level as you become more versatile. Give your documents a more professional look by learning advanced formatting techniques. You’ll create sections and tables, discover convenient mail merge and template features, and work with styles and AutoText. Get an introduction to macros. Word 2003 is used, but the skills can be applied to other versions. Prerequisite: a working knowledge of topics covered in Introduction to Word Processing: Microsoft Word.
