Skilled carpenters must knowledgeably use
specialized tools; read blueprints; fram structures; install doors, windows,
cabinets, insulation, and finish trim; and construct roof, decks, and stairways.
Being versatile opens a wide range of employment opportunities.
The Residential Carpentry Certificate Program consists of three levels (5 courses). Basic Construction Skills is
the entry course for the Certificate Program.
A Commercial Construction Certificate can
be obtained by completion of the carpentry program, plus level four.
The curriculum is designed by the industry
and aligned with national competency standards.
