Close-to-Home Snowshoe Hikes—
Women and the Woods

Enjoy the quiet and wonder of the winter woods by strapping on snowshoes to discover nearby nature trails. Build confidence by learning the essentials for staying safe, warm, and “found.” Along the trail, learn to identify evergreens and winter forest life. By the end of the series, you will know of local trails (with maps), have acquired basic “winter woods smarts,” and have met potential snowshoeing buddies. Dress for the weather (hats and gloves), wear comfortable boots, and bring a water bottle. Don’t forget your snowshoes! In case of no snow, we will meet for a winter woods trail hike.
