Gain insight and up-to-date information by participating in this global lecture series hosted by the International Affairs Forum and NMC. Each month features notable speakers--former ambassadors, government advisors, and think-tank people—who discuss topics in their fields of expertise.

The forums are held on Thursdays in the Milliken Auditorium on the NMC Campus. Everyone is invited to attend the 5:15 p.m. reception. Forums are 6-7:15 p.m.

Sept. 17 U.S. Foreign Policy under the Obama Administration

David Broder is a Pulitzer Prize winning political correspondent for the Washington Post. He has won numerous awards, including the Pulitzer Prize in 1973 for distinguished commentary. He is a regular commentator on CNN's Inside Politics and makes regular appearances on NBC's Meet the Press and Washington Week in Review.

Oct. 15 The War on Drugs Juan Carlos Hidalgo is project coordinator for Latin America at the Center for Global Liberty and Prosperity. Previously he was Latin America director of the International Policy Network and editor of the Cato Institute's Spanish Language website. He frequently writes on Latin America affairs.

April 15 Immigration and Asylum Duane W. Krohnke is an adjunct professor with the University of Minnesota Law School.
May 20 The Global Automobile Economy in 2010 and Beyond
Dr. Mustafa Mohatarem is chief economist of General Motors Corp. He is an expert on trade issues.
June 17 The Culture of the Middle East Joseph W. Elder is Professor of Sociology at the University of Wisconsin.

 

Ticket Information
Individual tickets for $10 may be purchased in advance through Extended Educational Services (EES) office for $10 (and at the door, if seats are still available).

Subscriber and Patron Memberships
Membership in the Forum is $125 per year and provides the subscriber with 16 tickets which are good for any of the seven lectures. A number of members have joined as Patrons and you may wish to consider this option. Patron membership is a contribution of $300. As a patron you will receive 16 tickets and recognition on a display in the Milliken Auditorium lobby as a special supporter of the lecture series. You may claim $140 of a Patron's contribution as a charitable tax deduction.
