Beginning Computers
If you are an absolute beginner, this hands-on class takes the mystery out of computers and explores common jargon, computer hardware, and the most popular software packages. Learn how to use the mouse, when to left or right click, the difference between the I-beam and insertion point, and the function of the keyboard. You’ll be introduced to basic Windows computer operations; word processing basics like manipulating text, cut, paste, and copy; and how to save your work using Microsoft Word. Gain the knowledge, practice, and confidence to grow your computer skills.

Essential Computer Keyboarding Skills
You’re sending and receiving e-mail; you’re writing letters on the computer—but are you still using that frustrating one-finger search-and-strike method to type? Learn to “touch type” and discover how to find the letters without looking at the keyboard. You’ll be amazed at how quickly you pick up speed and comfort. Fill in Your Blanks with Microsoft Word
Take your knowledge of Word up a notch by exploring topics of your choice. Before the first session, you will be asked to indicate three areas of interest and we’ll take it from there. Possible subjects may include, but are not limited to graphics, tables, tabs, columns, mail merges, templates, sorting and printing envelopes and labels. Successful completion of Introduction to Word Processing: Microsoft Word or at least six months of using Word proficiently is required.
