Broken Bowls—The Zen of Clay
Step into a pottery studio to discover clay, its qualities, its connection to culture, and experience traditions that have moved hand to hand for generations. We will create spirals as we wedge clay, establish our own center as we center clay, and begin to open larger and larger circular bowl shapes. We may add incised designs making our pots distinctively our own. Once bisque fired, we will break them, letting go of our connection to them. Lastly, we may use our meditative skills as we glue them back together creating a personal metaphor for life. No pottery experience necessary. Dress for a mess.
