Media Distribution:
Scheduling Media Equipment

Many NMC rooms are equipped with installed technology. All rooms have either a television or data projector, and many of the rooms with data projectors also have a computer with Internet/network connection. If you know you will be using technology when scheduling a room, ask if there is a room available with the equipment you need already installed. Educational Media Technologies staff delivers to and sets up equipment at your campus location when necessary. Equipment set-ups in non-NMC facilities are special situations and are dealt with on a case-by-case basis. Contact the Technical Coordinator at (231) 995-1078 for more information.

How do I request equipment for the classroom?

  • If you know you will be using technology on a regular basis, try to schedule a room with the technology already installed. Contact Central Scheduling at (231) 995-1113 to schedule a technology-equipped room.
  • If you do not have a room with the necessary installed technology:
    • Call Educational Media Technologies at 995-1070
    • E-mail the Media Requests GroupWise Group
      (MediaRequests@message.nmc.edu).
    • An online request form will be available soon!
    • Lead time is important. Requests made after 2:30 PM for next work day events often cannot be scheduled due to other committments!
  • The following information is required:
    • Contact or Instructor
    • Academic Area or Division
    • Date needed
    • Beginning and ending time of class
    • Classroom building & room number
    • Type of equipment needed
  • Your requested equipment will be delivered and set up ready to use in your classroom.
  • If you have a cancellation, remember to contact us so equipment isn't delivered to and left in an unattended room!
