EMT: Educational Media Technologies Revised 10/13/06

Course Pack Duplication & Distribution

What is Course Pack Duplication?
Educational Media Technologies offers support for the duplication and distribution of course syllabi and related course materials, commonly referred to as course packs, that cannot be copied on one of the in-house copiers. These include those that are too large in quantity to be handled internally or require special bindery services such as 3-hole punching, binding, cover/insert sheets, etc.

  • Complete the duplication request form available online or at the Educational Media Technologies Office, Osterlin 134.
  • Send or drop off the form along with the original materials to Educational Media Technologies.
  • Allow enough lead time for the outside duplication house to pick-up, copy, and drop-off before the start of the semester!! This is especially important for Fall and Spring semesters!
  • If you have any questions regarding this process, contact the EMT Office Manager at (231) 995-1075.

What Distribution Options Are There?

Faculty Distribution (in-class distribution)
Once course packs are returned from the outsourced vendor, Educational Media Technologies will deliver to the academic area upon request. Make sure to let us know where to deliver!

Bookstore Distribution:
Course packs that are outsourced through Educational Media Technologies for copying can be sent to the Bookstore for student purchase. You can split up the distribution if desired, such as having some copies sent to the academic area while the rest sent to the Bookstore. Remember to specify your distribution request on the duplication request form.

Online Distribution:
With the flexibility of viewing materials anyplace if they are placed online, you may want to consider putting your course packs on the Web instead, which in-turn saves NMC the costs and support time for copying and selling through the Bookstore or distributing within your class. Educational Media Technologies has Acrobat software that will easily transfer any word processing, spreadsheet, or PowerPoint handout materials to a .PDF format for easy online viewing (and printing if a student desires to do so).
