What Is A Consortium Agreement?A Consortium Agreement is an agreement made between two (2) colleges, one being the Home Institution (college granting the degree), the other being the Host Institution (college where additional course work is being taken). This agreement allows a student to take approved credits, by the Home Institution, at the Host Institution, which then can be counted toward the total number of credits taken for a semester for the determination of credit load for financial aid purposes. Federal guidelines will not allow a student to receive Financial Aid at two institutions simultaneously, this agreement allows a student to take courses toward their Home Institutions program at the Host Institution and still receive aid for those credits.
