Liberal Studies Scholarships

Kristine (Kris) Sue Boike Memorial Scholarship – This memorial scholarship will be awarded to a student from Grand Traverse or Leelanau County who is taking 6 or more credits and has a grade point average of 3.0. Financial need will be considered when there are equally qualified candidates. The amount of the scholarship will vary each year.

The Entering Class of 1951 Scholarship – a $500 award made to a full time student in this curriculum with a minimum grade point average of 3.0. Recipients must reside in the local service area. Exchange Club of Traverse City Scholarship– four $360 scholarships awarded to second-year students from the service area who have a minimum 2.0 grade point average. One scholarship each is awarded to vocational/technical, allied health, liberal arts, and Great Lakes Maritime Academy students.

Jane M. and Chester R. Jones Scholarship Fund – a $2,000 award to a full-time first-year student in a liberal arts transfer program who lives on campus and has at least a 3.5 high school grade point average. This scholarship may be renewable. A $2,000 award is also available for a full-time second-year student in a liberal arts transfer program who lives on campus and has at least a 3.0 grade point average.

Jane and John Norton Scholarship – awards to residents of Grand Traverse County in a liberal arts transfer program or a pre-professional program who are enrolled for a minimum of nine credit hours. The scholarship may be renewed for a second year if student maintains a 3.25 grade point average.
