Pre-Professional Scholarships
(Law, Social Work, Medical, Psychology, Sociology)
Bearup and Judson Legal Scholarship – a $500 merit-based scholarship given to pre-law or legal assistant students who are pursuing a career in the legal field. Other requirements: a 3.5 grade point average, residency in the NMC service area and enrollment for six credits or more credits.
Ferguson-Osterlin Health Scholarship – three to five awards of $1,000 to $1,500 for students in health care related programs. Recipients must be residents of Antrim, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Leelanau or Wexford counties and be enrolled for a minimum of six credit hours.
Ruth and Clifford Foster Scholarship – an award of varying amounts for a resident of Antrim, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, or Leelanau County enrolled in any program in the Health Occupations Disciplines or in the Pre-Medical program.
Douglas and Arlene Frantz Scholarship – Students from Benzie, Grand Traverse or Leelanau counties who are registered as Biology or Pre-med majors are eligible for this $500 award. Recipients must also be enrolled part-time and have a grade point average of 3.0.
Ward L. Oliver Memorial Scholarship – NMC students registered as nursing or pre-medical majors are eligible for this $500 scholarship. A 3.0 grade point average and part-time enrollment status are required.
Jane and John Norton Scholarship – an award to a resident of Grand Traverse County in a liberal arts transfer program or a pre-profession program who is enrolled for a minimum of nine credit hours. The scholarship may be renewed for a second year if the student maintains at least a 3.25 grade point average.
Catherine Strom Schmidt Zonta II Scholarship – an award of variable amount to a female resident of Grand Traverse or Leelanau County enrolled in the pre-professional program or Social Science academic area. A 3.0 grade point average is required.
Marion Weigand Memorial Scholarship – an award of varying amount to a student in the Nursing program who demonstrates financial need and is a resident of the six-county NMC service area.
