NMC Golf Scholarship Open — Please join us!

Held every year in early August, the NMC Scholarship Open is the premier tournament in Northern Michigan, raising funds for the Honors Scholarship Program. Honors Scholarships provide funding for top NMC students.

Our Honors students are achievers! They excel in fields such as nursing and culinary arts, become top-performing transfer students at 4-year universities, establish themselves in rewarding careers, and become contributing members of the community-many right here in Northern Michigan.

"I always wanted to be a teacher," said Bridget, "so I started at Northwestern Michigan College and then transferred to Ferris State University through the NMC University Center." The scholarship help she received made a big difference. "It allowed me to attend college full-time," she said, "instead of working two jobs."

With a literature major and a Spanish minor, Bridget's goal is to teach English as a Second Language. The mother of two grown children, Bridget got a late start on college and feels that being a "non-traditional" student has been a "huge advantage." She said, "I just started out to make the most of the experience, but I ended up getting good grades, too!"

The NMC Scholarship Open is a once-a-year golf tournament that raises funds to provide Honors Student Scholarships for students enrolled at NMC. Sponsorship levels range from $125 to $5,000. It is the largest tournament in Northern Michigan.

You also receive tax benefits, an invitation to be our guest at the NMC Scholarship Open on August 7, 2008, and special recognition during the dinner program on tournament day.
