Biederman Society
"The more I looked at (Traverse City) and envisioned it as a center of a gigantic wheel stretching over five counties, the more I saw a good, thriving college as the hub of that wheel."
"Happy Days" by Les Biederman, 1982, Pioneer Study Center Press, page 77. |
Traditionally, colleges and universities name their recognition societies for planned giving donors in memory of the school's founder. Northwestern Michigan College followed that august custom when it established the Biederman Society. Named for Lester M. Biederman whose inspiration and dedication led to the founding of NMC, the Biederman Society honors those individuals who have designated planned gifts to the College.
For you, our benefactors, a planned gift is a remarkably versatile investment. It gives you the opportunity to support the NMC program that is dearest to your heart, bequeath personal and/or family legacies and, in many cases, reduce your tax obligations. For NMC, planned gifts represent your confidence in our accomplishments, trust in our potential, and faith in the abilities of our students, faculty and staff. Your thoughtful generosity provides NMC with a solid foundation on which to build its promise and enhance its rich legacy of contributions to our community.
The Biederman Society consists of loyal alumni, friends, faculty and staff who have designated a planned gift to NMC. These donors are exceptional. Due to the very nature of planned giving, most likely they will not see their gifts bear fruit and, yet, they have chosen to invest in the intangible: NMC's Future. The Biederman Society enables NMC to express its gratitude to these visionary donors during their lifetimes.
We encourage you to join the Biederman Society and allow us the opportunity to honor and acknowledge your visionary commitment to NMC and our community.
