Results of Property Ownership on Boardman Pond
to be discussed at Boardman River Dams Committee meeting Tuesday
Traverse City, Michigan - The Boardman River Dams Committee will meet on Tuesday, January 23, from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Grand Traverse Civic Center. Nyal Deems, representing Varnum, Riddering, Schmidt, & Howlett LCC will provide a report on the results of ownership of Boardman Pond bottomlands, which may be exposed due to the pond's drawdown.
Also on the agenda are updates concerning the status of Boardman Dam license, maintenance agreement and consent agreement between the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality and Grand Traverse County, and a discussion to determine next steps regarding the anticipated exposed bottomlands at Boardman Pond.
The Boardman River Dams Committee provides a unique opportunity for community members to participate in public process and make important recommendations regarding the the future of the four dams on the Boardman River. All meetings are open to the public and all interested parties are encouraged to attend.
