Students' Rights & Responsibilities
As a Patient you have rights and responsibilities. You have the Right:
- to be treated with dignity and respect.
- to privacy.
- to confidentiality of your records.
- to review your records.
- to receive copies of your records with written permission.
- to be seen in a reasonable amount of time.
- to receive accurate information about your health concerns, in order to provide informed consent before the initiation of any test, treatment or procedure.
- to know the effectiveness and possible side effects of various treatments.
- to refuse any recommended services or to ask for a second opinion.
- to information about any additional costs related to various services.
You have the Responsibility:
- to seek medical attention promptly.
- to be honest about your medical history.
- to ask about anything you don't understand.
- to respect Health Service personnel and policies.
- to follow health advice and medical instructions including completing medication and returning for follow-up care.
- to report any significant change in symptoms or failure to improve.
- to keep appointments or cancel them in advance.
- to be prompt with payments.
- to provide useful feedback about services and policies.
