Why Dental Assisting?

The field of Dental Assisting has alot to offer. Check out some of the reasons current NMC students chose Dental Assisting for a career.

  • Dental Assistants have one of the most diverse and interesting of all positions in a dental office.
  • Numerous job opportunities with weekends, holidays, and evenings free.
  • Varied job responsibilities including:
    • Chairside assisting
    • Dental office work
    • Lab procedures
    • Patient education
    • Many more...
  • Contact with people in a health-related setting.
  • Positions include part-time, full-time, and flex-time.
  • Many NMC dental assisting students find employment while in the program.

Why NMC?

  • Two program options:
    • One-year Certificate
    • Two-year Associate Degree
  • Students can attend on a full or part-time basis and can begin any semester.
  • Lecture and lab courses are on campus, with dental office internships arranged close to home.
  • Classes are blocked which means that a student can attend full-time and be on campus as few as three days per week.
  • Selected courses will transfer to dental hygiene programs.
  • The program is accredited by the ADA which allows certificate earners to sit for both the State Board and the National Certification Exams.
