MBX Instructions
Take some time to move your mouse cursor over the various icons; a small text box will appear that will explain what each icon represents, e.g., the cursor is shown over the "compose message" icon in the left-hand part of the mail window above. The system also provides a personal address book and calendar, both of which are accessible through the icons on the left-hand side. If you have trouble figuring it out, please use the "help" file; the "help" icon is shown above being highlighted by a second cursor at the top of the window near the center. All student e-mail addresses will take the form of "userid@mbx.nmc.edu" where the userid is the same as a student's on-campus network login. The userid consists of the first six letters of the student's last name followed by the first initial of their first name, e.g., Jan Doe's address will be "doej@mbx.nmc.edu." In the case of identical userids, additional accounts will have a number appended to the first six letters of their last name, e.g., Mark Smith's userid could be "smith07" depending on how many "smithm's" already existed. Mark's address would then be "smith07@mbx.nmc.edu." Currently, there is no student directory in place which you can search to locate another student's address. You may, however, add addresses to your personal address book contained in this e-mail system. There is a five megabyte (5 MB) storage limit to each mail account. Accounts will be left in place during the summer semester. Students that do not return for fall semester will then have their accounts deleted soon after the beginning of fall semester. Fall semester students that do not register for spring semester will have their accounts deleted one month after the end of fall semester. Creating Sent Items Folder
