Honors Program Scholarships Application Standards

All contracts must by typed, signed, and dated; otherwise, they will not be accepted!

Northwestern Michigan College offers eight $2000 scholarships for full-time students and four $1000 for part-time students during each academic year. A total of $20,000 is awarded each year by the Honors Program to qualified students. Scholarships are awarded based upon academic achievement. Students who receive these scholarships must meet the following standards. They must have

• accumulated at least 20 NMC semester credits
• accumulated no more than 60 NMC semester credits
• maintained at least a 3.5 GPA at NMC
• completed at least 3 credits in the Honors Program by the end of the semester in which application is made.
• submit a well written grammatically perfect essay which fully describes the student's educational and career goals.
• complete the application process by the stated deadline.

Students who receive an Honors Scholarship must continue to maintain a 3.5 GPA and complete additional work in the Honors Program as required by the Honors Scholarship.
