Facts About Campus Apartments at NMC

Who Do We Serve?

We accept housing applications from individuals:

  • 21 years and older
  • Pursuing at least six credit hours per semester (fall and spring) through NMC
  • We encourage our students to further their education through the University Center if they so choose. If a current resident has completed NMC classes and is only pursuing credits through the University Center, they may continue their residency in the apartments.

Why Does NMC Own Apartments In Addition To Residence Halls?

We realize that many of our students are non-traditional, especially since the average age of the NMC student is 27. These students have many different needs than the traditional student attending college right out of high school.

Many of our residents:

  • Are married or have been married
  • Are parents
  • Are returning to school after years of working unsatisfying jobs to pursue another career path
  • Are in need of affordable housing
  • Work full time
  • Need a quiet, more private atmosphere than the Residence Halls
  • Live in the apartments the duration of their college education (2-5 years)

Where Are The Apartments Located?

The apartment buildings are on the east side of the NMC main campus right on Campus Drive. The apartments are east of the Beckett Building, south of the Rajkovich Physical Education Building, and southeast of the Residence Halls.

How Is The Apartment Community Maintained?

The apartments are similar to the Residence Halls in that a custodial is assigned part-time to keep the public areas (hallways, laundry rooms, stairways, walkways) clean and free from clutter. There is also a maintenance person who is called when there are maintenance issues.
