Welcome to NMC Housing!Dear NMC Student: Thank you for your interest in living in the residence halls at Northwestern Michigan College. Enclosed is a housing contract Submission of this contract DOES NOT guarantee accommodations in the residence halls. Contracts will be reviewed by the housing staff and those accepted will be notified by mail. The College does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, sexual orientation, disability or ethnic background. If a student does not check into the Residence Hall by the first day of classes or make arrangements for late arrival with the Coordinator of Housing and Residence Life, his/her room will be reassigned to another student and he/she may forfeit his/her deposit. Students who live in the residence halls are required to maintain a minimum of a 2.0 G.P.A. per semester. If a student is accepted into housing with below a 2.0 G.P.A. or falls below at any time, he/she will be required to meet with a member of the Student Housing Success Team and follow their instructions. Students who fail to meet with and/or fail to follow the instructions of the Student Housing Success Team could be removed from the residence halls with all costs accrued and outlined in the contract remaining. There are three meal plans to choose from: Option one provides approximately 19 meals per week, Option two provides approximately 16 meals per week, and Option three provides approximately 13 meals per week. These are only estimates and will vary based on individual eating habits. Once you have chosen a meal plan it cannot be changed unless you upgrade. Balances can be transferred from Fall to Spring, however, any balance left at the end of the Spring semester will not be refunded. Meal plans are non-refundable. The Housing balance must be paid by Friday, August 15, 2008. Please be aware that if you need financial assistance, your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) must be received and awarded prior to move in date. Part of your award package may be student loans; please fill out your loan request form and return to the Financial Aid Office for certification.
