Residence Hall Council (RHC)

If you are looking for a great way to get involved and meet new people, then Residence Hall Council is right for you! This organization is a great way to keep informed about what is going on in the Residence Halls and campus wide. It is also a great way to express your ideas and get results.

What has RHC done in the past?

RHC meets weekly in the lower level of East Hall. Anyone who lives in the Residence Hall is already a member, so come on down and check it out.

Executive Board Positions

Elections for the Residence Hall Council Executive Board occur each Fall. For more information, please stop by our first Residence Hall Council meeting or ask your Resident Assistant.

Here are the positions available every year:

• President — Acts as the liaison between the Hall Council Advisor and all elected members of Hall Council. He/She will also chair Hall Council meetings. The president will only vote in case of a tie.
• Vice President — Assists the President and presides over meetings in his/her absence.
• Hall Justice — Coordinates the judicial board program. He/She will also meet with the Associate Residence Life Supervisor every time there is an incident in the Residence Hall.
• Secretary — The Secretary will take the minutes at all meetings and then distribute a copy to all members by 12:00 Midnight the following day. The Secretary is also expected to maintain accurate records on the activities of Hall Council. He/She will keep an organized binder of all past minutes.
• Treasurer — The Treasurer will keep an accurate record of Hall Council funds. He/She will be expected to produce a weekly budget report, but not limited to receipts, expenditures, and donations.
