Employee Recognition Committee

Type Of Committee:
Standing

Purpose:
To recognize achievements or accomplishments that contribute to the overall Mission, Vision, and Values of Northwestern Michigan College through well-defined, authorized recognition programs.

Membership:
Assistant-Human Resources, chair; at least one member from all employee groups, plus an executive staff representative. They serve two fiscal-year terms, which may be renewed. The members are nominated by their respective staff councils and approved by the Executive Director of Human Resources.

Reporting Relationship:
The committee reports its recommendations to the President through the Executive Director of Human Resources.

Responsibilities:
NMC will have programs to honor:

  1. Employees who reach designated years of service
  2. Employees who retire from College service
  3. Accomplishments or achievements, either individually or by teams, considered especially valuable by their peers.

The Committee will be charged with directing and implementing the Employee Recognition Programs.

Communication Strategy:
Employee recognition programs will be announced through email, NMC's website, and other college communication vehicles as appropriate.

Timeline:
The Committee meets regularly to plan and implement employee recognition programs and to select recipients of awards when designated by specific program guidelines.
