Graduate Follow-Up Survey

 

Highlight Results 2009

  • 282 of 543 unique graduates from 2007-2008 responded to the survey (52%)
  • 95% of graduates reported they had achieved their educational goal
  • NMC 2008 placement rate 96% - percentage of graduates employed or continuing their education after graduation
  • Of those working in their degree field, 88% found work in Northwest Michigan and 93% were satisfied or very satisfied with their career choice
  • 89% of the graduates were satisfied or very satisfied with NMC preparation
  • 94% of graduates agreed that NMC is a good value for the money
  • 94% of graduates agreed that NMC was a good place to achieve one's educational goals
  • Graduates recognized by name the teaching excellence of: Alison Collins, Keith Overbaugh, Linda Anderson, Cheryl Bloomquist, Rob Hamilton, Barcley Owens, Garyn Roberts, Marv Studinger, Ernie East, Rob Houston, and Wayne Moody.
  • A graduate quote: "Going to school at NMC was a great experience. I am prepared for both my continued education and employment. Every instructor I had at NMC greatly influenced my character by expanding my knowledge and critical thinking skills. Thank you for a great experience."
  • Another graduate quote: "NMC helped me to understand that there is a big picture to every situation. I feel that NMC has prepared me for a four year university. I will miss my instructors because I knew they cared about my education. Thank you."
  • And a final graduate quote: "NMC was a very good choice for me after I graduated high school. I have no regrets. I have an associate's degree with high grades that will transfer to wherever school I choose to go to and I'm not in debt at all. Thank you, NMC."

Purpose:

The Graduate Follow-Up Survey is administered annually around December to students that graduated with a degree or certificate in the previous year. Besides helping to measure Institutional Effectiveness, results from the Graduate Follow-Up Survey are used in the assessment of general education, for state and federal reporting, as well as the Program Review of Occupational Education.

Results:

Graduates respond to two questions on the survey regarding overall satisfaction with NMC. The following chart demonstrates the responses to those results over the last three years.
