Display
and Exhibits
As an educational and cultural institution and as part of its public
service, the NMC Mark and Helen Osterlin Library offers exhibits and displays
of interest, information, and enlightenment to the college and greater
Traverse City community. The primary purpose of these displays is to promote
libraries, librarianship, and research in the pursuit of lifelong learning.
The library has a display case just inside the front doors of the building.
Government Documents
We offer the general public free access to online Federal Government information as provided through the Federal Depository Library Program.
Intellectual Freedom
The Osterlin Library adheres to the principles outlined in the American
Library Association's Library
Bill of Rights and the Association of College & Research Libraries' Intellectual Freedom
Principles for Academic Libraries. The Library is open to use by all
members of the public including minors;
however, our primary obligation is to meet the needs of the students,
staff, and faculty of Northwestern Michigan College.
