Print Newspapers
The Osterlin Library subscribes to many area newspapers, including the Traverse City Record-Eagle. We also have long runs of many local historical newspapers in microfiche format - a complete list is included below. For a searchable list of all Osterlin Library newspaper titles, see the Osterlin Library Journal List.
The Traverse City Record-Eagle is available online for current news. Searchable Archives searches by keyword local news stories back to 1998.
The Detroit News -- The current paper, plus browse online issues back to January, 2000.
Genealogy
The genealogy collection formerly located at the Osterlin Library has moved to the Traverse Area District Library (TADL). If you are doing genealogical research, we recommend you use the collection at TADL. The Grand Traverse Area Genealogical Society or the Grand Traverse County Clerk may also have helpful information. The Osterlin Library Reference staff are extremely limited in the amount of reference assistance we can provide to genealogists. We recommend that you contact one of the resources listed above.
