Book Reviews at the Osterlin Library
A Book Review usually includes a summary
and critical examination of the book. Some good library databases and
indexes to use to find book reviews are:
- Contemporary
Literary Criticism
An extensive collection of critical essays on contemporary authors.
Each entry contains a biographical/critical introduction, listing of
principal works and sources for further study. See also Contemporary
Authors for complete biographical information on more than 120,000
U.S. and international authors and Twayne's
Authors' Series for in-depth information and research help on
a select group of English, U.S., and world authors.
- InfoTrac
Use this general interest/business database to search magazines and
newspapers for book reviews by typing "book reviews" as a
search term along with the title of the book.
- New York Times Book Review Section -- from the Sunday New York
Times. Available on microfilm from 1851-1999, and in Lexis-Nexis
Academic from 1980.
These databases are available off-campus
to current NMC students, faculty, and staff.
