Circulation Services

Check out a book
NMC circulation policies are designed to assist library users with prompt and equitable access to library materials. Borrowing privileges for Library materials are extended to NMC students, faculty, and staff as well area residents, NMC emeritus faculty and to Trustees.

Please visit the library service desk to request a library card.

  • Students may obtain a library card by presenting either a drivers license or a student identification card at the library service desk.
  • Faculty, staff and area residents may obtain a library card by presenting a valid drivers license at the library service desk.

The loan period on most books and government documents is three weeks. NMC students, faculty, and staff may renew their loans for an additional three weeks provided no other library patrons have place a hold on any items. If a hold has been placed, the item must be returned at the end of the loan period.

Area adults and high school students (grades 9-12) may check out up to 8 books for three weeks with one renewal.

Renew a Book
Renewals may be completed in person or by phone (231-995-1060). In either case, you will need to have your NMC library card handy to provide us with the barcode number to complete the transaction. To speed up the process, it would be helpful to have the list of titles you wish to renew handy.
