Service Levels
Last spring semester the Teaching, Learning and Technology
Team discussed the service levels that are expected and needed for
the technology services and applications that are provided by Learning
Resources & Technologies (LRT). The goal is to have a common
understanding as to what level of service to expect, to determine
if that meets the needs of our users, and to monitor LRT's performance.
I've revised the document we discussed last Spring and what to spend
some time reviewing here. The next step would be to publicize the
document.
Here is the draft for your review: Service
Level Agreements for Learning Resources & Technologies
Planning
As we do our planning for FY08, we need to get some
input from all of you on what we should be doing more of and less
of. What do your colleagues want and need? What do your students
expect. If we propose certain projects, what will be the forces
pushing for or against success?
News and updates
- NMC Magazine is trying out some new technologies for this semester's
magazine. Check out the NMC Magazine's blog
and myspace sites.
- The 2006
Horizon Report is a collaboration between the New Media Consortium
and the EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative. "Each year, the report
describes six areas of emerging technology that will have significant
impact in higher education within three adoption horizons over
the next one to five years. In defining the six selected areas,
the project draws on an ongoing discussion among knowledgeable
individuals in business, industry, and education, as well as published
resources, current research and practice, and the expertise of
the NMC community itself."
