General Program Requirements

Maritime cadets must comply with the NMC Student Rules and Regulations and Great Lakes Maritime Cadet Rules and Regulations that are tailored to meet federal requirements. You will receive a copy of the Cadet Rules and Regulations upon entering the Academy.

To remain in good standing, Maritime cadets must maintain an overall Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0 or above. In addition, cadets must obtain a grade of at least 2.0 in ALL Maritime subjects. Failure to do so may result in the cadet being disenrolled from the Maritime Academy until a grade of at least 2.0 is earned in the deficient subject. If disenrolled for academic deficiencies, re-admission to the Maritime Academy is subject to the approval of the Great Lakes Maritime Superintendent on letter application from the cadet.
