Midshipman presented award by Chief of Naval Operations

It is our pleasure to announce that the Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) has awarded MIDN Scott Skrzypcak the Distinguished Midshipman Graduate Award. For those who are unfamiliar the ranking structure of the US Navy, the CNO is the highest ranking position that can be obtained in Naval Service. MIDN Skrzypcak has been recognized by our leader for having met the highest standards of leadership, academic excellence and military performance throughout his tenure at the Great Lakes Maritime Academy. To the knowledge of the Department of Naval Science this is the first time ever in the history of the programs existence that this award has been awarded to a student/midshipman at this institution. MIDN Skrzypcak and the Great Lakes Maritime Academy is very deserving of this recognition and should be commended on a job well done!
