NMC Community Concert Band to perform March 7

TRAVERSE CITY – Northwestern Michigan College’s Community Concert Band will present a concert of American band classics at 8 p.m. March 7 in Milliken Auditorium of the Dennos Museum Center on NMC’s main campus.

Under the direction of Thomas Riccobono, Interlochen Arts Academy instructor, the Band will perform works by Alfred Reed, Karl King, David Holsinger, Eric Whitacre, Gordon Jacob, Jerry Bilik and John Philip Sousa. 

The NMC Community Concert Band was formed in 1973 and now totals more than 50 members. It is comprised of young, energetic high school and college students learning side-by-side with experienced adults. The band is a member of the Association of Concert Bands. Rehearsals are weekly throughout the academic year, with performances held primarily at Milliken Auditorium.

  • Karl L. King, Purple Pageant March
  • David R, Holsinger, Havendance
  • Eric Whitacre, Sleep
  • Gordon Jacob, William Byrd Suite
  • Jerry H. Bilik, Block M March
