'Hamlet 2' screening free to students Sept. 18
Traverse City, MI – NMC will continue its monthly sponsorship of a free movie for students at the State Theatre with a 7 p.m. showing of “Hamlet 2” Thursday, Sept. 18. “Hamlet 2” is an irreverent comedy about a failed actor turned even-worse high school drama teacher (Steve Coogan) who rallies his students as he conceives and stages a politically incorrect musical sequel to Shakespeare’s “Hamlet.” The film is rate R. View the film trailer here: NMC began sponsoring free monthly movies for students at the State Theatre in June. Volunteer student ambassadors and NMC faculty and staff are on hand to usher, serve concessions, facilitate the discussion and answer questions about NMC. The free screenings are open to students of any grade level (as appropriate for the individual movie rating), and seating is on a first-come first-serve basis. The general public is welcome to attend the same screening by paying the regular admission price. The NMC Free Film Movie selection will be announced each month at www.statetheatretc.org.
