TRAVERSE CITY, MI – NMC’s Bridge Experience, a unique learning community that provides a doorway into higher education for learners hesitating about returning to or attending college, is now enrolling for the spring 2009 semester.
Bridge consists of three one-semester classes – communications, math and technology – which provide students the opportunity to develop important skills for employment and college. Simultaneously, they become familiar with the college landscape. Working in a community of similar learners, students build skill sets for employment or to transition from Bridge to a successful long-term college career. There is also a career development
process within Bridge for those looking for new directions.
All Bridge students receive assistance resolving issues that otherwise could be barriers to their education, including daycare, housing and transportation. Help is also available navigating all NMC admissions, financial aid and registration processes.
Enrollment is now underway for spring semester Bridge classes which begin Jan. 13, 2009. Visit www.nmc.edu/bridgeprogram to learn more, or call Charlene Lutes or Trudie Hines at (231) 995-1971 to schedule an appointment.
