WHO: New presenting organization, Chamber Music North reaches out to classical chamber music devotees in the Grand Traverse Region. Notable musicians and chamber ensembles come to Traverse City to perform. These introductory concerts offer a variety of music from the canon of great chamber music repertoire.
Concert on February 24th features musicians: Laurence Liberson, Assistant Principal Clarinet of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Ann Arbor based pianist, Michele Cooker and Debra Fayroian, cello.
This program, Lyrical Landscapes features the music of Schumann, Beethoven and Brahms. These works showcase glorious melodies and compositional styles of the 19th century:
Fantasy Pieces Opus 73 for Clarinet and Piano — Robert Schumann
Seven Mozart Variations (Magic Flute) for Violoncello and Piano — Ludwig van Beethoven
Trio in A minor Opus 114 for Piano, Clarinet and Violoncello — Johannes Brahms
