Mauvais Sort Kid’s Concert and Family Day

November 1, 2008, Family Day is 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m, Kid’s Concert is at 11:00 a.m.

Mauvais Sort, a French Canadian folk fusion group from Quebec, will delight children and their parents on Saturday, November 1, 2008 with a kid’s concert.  Mauvais Sort combines talent, accessibility, and enthusiasm with a love for music, specifically traditional music, to capture the hearts of its audience. Using bygone tunes and lyrics, anecdotes of its own making, and traditional stories, this concert especially for children will focus on having fun with interactive activities while learning about traditional instruments such as the accordion, feet, and mandolin.  $5 for children ages 2 to 12, $10 for adults.  Go to www.dennosmuseum.org or call (231) 995-1553 for tickets.  The Museum will host a Family Day on the same day from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm, with activities relating to the concert and the 12 Voices exhibit of art quilts.

Mauvais Sort presentations are supported by the Performing Arts Fund, a program of Arts Midwest funded by the National Endowment for the Arts, which believes that a great nation deserves great art, with additional contributions from Michigan Council for the Arts and Cultural Affairs, General Mills Foundation, Land O’Lakes Foundation and Tamarack Lodge.
