Seminar on Solar Power for the HomeTRAVERSE CITY, MI – Northwestern Michigan College will offer a hands-on introduction to solar power on Saturday, February 23, 1-4 p.m., at NMC's Aero Park Campus. "Many people don't realize that solar power is a viable option for Northern Michigan" says Bill Queen, coordinator of the Michigan Energy Demonstration Center at NMC. The seminar provides participants with the fundamental understanding of what it takes to use solar power in the home and includes exhibits of solar power use and the chance to participate in the assembly and testing of a small solar power system. Additional topics include: understanding Michigan's solar availability, an overview of the growing solar energy field, systems components and configuration, financial information, local resources, and much more.
