TRAVERSE CITY, MI – Professor Derick L. Hulme of Alma College will speak on “1/20/09: The U.S. in a Post-Bush World” at an International Affairs Forum at 6 p.m. Nov. 20 in Milliken Auditorium on the main campus of Northwestern Michigan College.

Dr. Hulme has been teaching political science at Alma College for the last 16 years. His courses generally relate to international relations, including problems and conflicts. He has published four books on this subject, the most recent (2009) titled “Israeli-Palestinian Road Map for Peace: A Critical Analysis”. He earned a Ph.D. from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University in 1988.

The program is the third in an eight-part series sponsored by the International Affairs Forum during the 2008-2009 academic year which brings diplomats, policy makers, journalists and others from all over the globe to Milliken Auditorium for monthly lectures. All programs begin with a reception in the Sculpture Court of the Dennos Museum Center at Northwestern Michigan College at 5:15 p.m. and are followed at 6 p.m. by the lecture and a discussion period in the Milliken Auditorium. Area educators and students are admitted free.

Individual lecture tickets are $10 each and are available in advance or at the door. Two levels of Forum membership are also available: as a Subscriber, members pay $125 and receive 16 tickets good for any lecture; as a Patron, members pay $300 and, in addition to the 16 tickets, receive recognition at each lecture and an opportunity to have dinner with the speaker.
